Raj Natarajan concentrates his practice on commercial lending and banking transactions.  He has negotiated and documented numerous syndicated, club and single lender credit facilities with specific emphasis in the healthcare, media, communications, manufacturing and retail industries.  Mr. Natarajan has experience in senior secured, cash flow and asset based facilities, second lien and mezzanine debt, acquisition financing and dividend recapitalizations.  In addition, he has closed a variety of real estate finance transactions and also has experience in debtor-in-possession financing.

Selected Experience

  • Represented the administrative agent in a $2.7 billion committed financing for the acquisition of 3.8 million acres of timberland throughout the U.S.
  • Represented the administrative agent in $1.6 billion syndicated credit facilities for a cellular communications service provider.
  • Represented the second lien agent in a $28 million second lien term loan to a garden supplies manufacturer in connection with a leveraged buy-out.
  • Represented a national skilled nursing provider in $140 million of debtor-in-possession financing and $297 million exit financing.
  • Represented the administrative agent in $166 million syndicated credit facilities for a logistics/trucking company.

    • Serves as Advisory Board Member on the UNC School of Law’s Center for Banking and Finance.
    • Serves on the board of directors and as treasurer for Raksha, a non-profit organization serving the needs of the South Asian community.
