Another Successful Year of Freedom Writers Comes to A Close in the Atlanta OfficeMore than 25 volunteers in the Atlanta office celebrated the end of the second year of the Firm's Freedom Writers mentoring initiative at Booker T. Washington High School on Wednesday, May 21st by hosting a "No Haters Allowed" rap concert. Three student teams performed raps they had written with their mentors that championed tolerance, peace and anti-discrimination. The winning team will get to record their song in Dallas Austin's recording studio at the school.

The concert culminated with a banner presentation by the Anti-Defamation League honoring Washington High School as a "No Place for Hate" school. To earn this designation, the Freedom Writers helped to organize several activities and events throughout the year to heighten awareness of diversity and combat prejudice and intolerance.

Approximately 75 mentors from Kilpatrick Stockton participated in the program this year and mentored 112 tenth grade students at Washington High School. This was the second year of a four-year commitment to this particular group of students who we hope to develop into an accomplished community of writers. We also hope to inspire at least 10% of the students to attend law school and our ultimate goal is to have at least one student come to work for Kilpatrick Stockton.More on Volunteerism
